The thesaurus dictionary defines the word beginning as follows:

  1. an act or circumstance of entering upon an action or state.
  2. the point of time or space at which anything begins.
  3. the first part: the beginning of …
  4. origin; source; first cause.

Everything and Everyone has a Beginning

Going by the above meanings of the word beginning, it is clear that everything and everyone has a beginning. The life of an individual has a beginning. A marriage has a beginning; ditto a community, an organisation and even a nation. Similarly, events, situations and circumstances have beginning periods.

It means that whatever good pleasure you are enjoying at the moment had a beginning. Whatever pains, frustration, depression and disappointment you are experiencing now began one day ago. That financial and business success you are enjoying now had a beginning. It was not always there. That peace and bliss or battle in your relationship, or marriage had a beginning.

That sickness, affliction and so-called terminal disease began at some point. The financial struggle and lack started at a point in time. The advancement in technology and economic development in some countries started at some point. And the poverty, confusion and high level of insecurity enveloping some countries also had their beginning moment.

Stop Living in the Past

As individuals, couples, families, communities, institutions and countries, let us learn from our past and start living in the present. If you were successful in the past, you can be more successful in the present. Was your past tough? You can change all that.

Stop wasting your time and energy living in the past. Like Philip Raskin wrote, “The man who wastes today lamenting yesterday will waste tomorrow lamenting today.” Driving a car with your eyes constantly looking at the rear mirror is a sure way to get involved in an accident.

Individuals, families, companies, institutions communities and nations that spend most of their time lamenting the loss of the good old days instead of focusing on how to make their present better can never move forward and get better.

A New Beginning is Also Possible

Carl Bard said, “Though no man can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.” Since there is always a beginning and since everything/everyone has a beginning, it also means that you can have a new beginning in any area of your life.

Peace and joy can begin afresh now in your marriage. Your business, career and finance can take a new and better turn from now if you make that decision. Share on X

Peace and joy can begin afresh now in your marriage. Your business, career and finance can take a new and better turn from now if you make that decision. As a family, community, state and country, a new beginning/start in all areas of life is possible if we desire it.

Every Problem has a Solution

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3. (KJV)

  • What do you want to see around you?
  • What problems are you trying to solve?
  • What new beginning(s) do you desire?

Regardless of how bad and down your present position and circumstance may be,  a new beginning is possible and you can have it if you want it. It all starts with you. Like David McNally said, “Your past cannot be changed, but you can change your tomorrow by your actions today.”

Regardless of what your past was, you can follow the advice of Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13 (KJV), “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”

Learn from your past but don’t remain in your past. Appreciate that your future is greater than your past and so don’t allow your past to destroy your future.

God has already given us as individuals, families, institutions, communities and nations the instruments to create the new beginning that we desire. The power to create that new beginning is in your heart, tongue and hands. Think Well, Speak Well and Do Well and it shall be well with you.
