Survival Strategy No. 3 to Overcome the Negative Effects of Covid-19
Scripture Reference: Genesis 1: 1 – 31
Introduction
Welcome to the third part of our teaching on the creation principles. So far, we have defined the creation as the process in which God, using what he had, created what he did not have but wanted.
In the first part, we discussed the raw materials God had while the second part covered what God did not have when he started the creation project. In this third part, we shall look at some of the physical actions God took in order to create the things he wanted.
What God Did During Creation
Genesis 1:3-5
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
For God to create the things which he wanted, he took some physical actions as recorded in Genesis 1:1-31.
We can count about 8 major actions which God took as follows:
- God communicated and spoke some words. God said, “Let there be light.” There are ten “And God said…” instances in the passage.
- God focused on what he wanted. He concentrated on such things as light, firmament and so on instead of on the darkness, void and formless earth.
- God inspected and observed. He looked and saw with his eyes. In the passage, there are seven “And God saw…” instances.
- God appreciated and commended his own works. There are seven “And God saw that it was good…” instances.
- God was creative and innovative. “And God divided the light from the darkness.” The word “divided” appeared two times. This is bulk breaking in action.
- God branded his works. “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.” In the passage under reference, there are three “And God called…” occasions.
- God empowered what he created. The plants, trees, fishes, animals and man were all empowered to bring forth after their kind. There are five “…after its kind” in Genesis 1:11, 12, 21, 24 and 25.
- God blessed what he created. God set up all that he created to succeed and prosper. Genesis 1:28
Remember that the Holy Spirit which moved upon the waters and Jesus Christ, who is the word of God, were also present and worked with God. John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” (KJV)
While Isaiah 48:13 says, “Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.” (KJV)
The Practical Application
To start with, do you know exactly what you want in life and in your world? God knew what he wanted. He wanted light, day, night, firmament, dry land, grasses, herbs, trees, fishes, animals, man and woman.
What do you want? Make a list of what you want about your life for next year, three years, five years, etc.
As one created in the image of God, now proceed to manifest that image of God in you by doing what God did. Recognise that there is the power of life and death in your tongue according to Proverbs 18:21. So release the life in your tongue to create what you want.
- Be very careful and intentional in how you use your tongue.
In the post-Covid-19 period, use your tongue to speak life instead of death to your talents, abilities and gifts. With your tongue, release life upon your health, marriage, spouse, children, finance, business, relationships, ideas, and projects.
In the post-Covid-19 period, use your tongue to speak life instead of death to your talents, abilities and gifts. Share on X- Focus on the solutions you want and go about to create them.
Focus on what you have and what you want instead of worrying and complaining about what you don’t have.
Focus on the solutions you want to create, instead of on the problems and lack around you. As Fearless Motivation Official said, “negativity keeps you blind to opportunities. It keeps you blind to the good in the world. It holds you hostage to your true potential.”
Focus on what you have and what you want instead of worrying and complaining about what you don’t have. Share on X- Become observant and notice what is going on around you.
Inspect your results and outcomes. According to Peter Drucker, “What gets measured gets done.”
- Appreciate your own achievement.
Learn to commend yourself and be your own cheerleader. Appreciate your own effort no matter how little, and see the good in what you can do with what you have.

If the results you get is not exactly what and how you want it, then divide it and convert it to what you want. Put on your creativity cap and make the best of what you have. Aim to be resourceful.
- Brand and give names to what you achieve and produce.
What name have you given to your spouse, children, staff, boss, parents, community and country? What are you saying concerning your career, education, family, future, health and your other life issues? Speak well about your life and it’ll be well with you.
- Empower what you have and the works of your hands.
Know that everything you have and every word you speak is a seed that will bring forth after its kind. Don’t plant what you wouldn’t like to harvest.

Use the words of your mouth to set the stage for your success instead of destroying your own results with your own mouth ignorantly. Declare what you have created blessed.
