Survival Strategies to Overcome the Negative Effects of Covid-19

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1: 1-31

Introduction

This insight came to me during the corona virus pandemic lockdown. The Lord gave me the burden to write some survival strategies to encourage and assist believers and everyone who will obey the Word of God on how to handle and confront the massive negative consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and other life challenges.

As you continue with life even after the corona virus pandemic, understanding and applying the creation principle is one of your weapons of survival and victory.

Like Dr. Myles Munroe said, “You must recognise that God in his infinite wisdom has put the power to bring forth your dreams, hopes, aspirations and imaginations in you and not in the people or systems looking down on you.”

What Do You Want in Life?

Your dream for a peaceful and happy family is possible. Your desire to build and manage your own business is doable. Your aspiration to pass your examinations, become successful and be a blessing to your family and people around you can be achieved notwithstanding the present challenges of life. Whatsoever dreams, hopes, aspirations and imaginations you have can be achieved if only you can believe and follow the creation principles as given to us in the word of God in Genesis 1:1-31.

The Raw Materials God Used During Creation

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:1-2 (KJV)

As at the time God began to create the earth, we can attempt to list out some of the raw materials God had at hand. The materials were both in tangible and intangible forms and they include:

1. The earth which was without form (shapeless) and void (completely empty).
2. Darkness was all over the place;
3. Water covered everywhere.
4. God also had his vision, imagination, plan and creativity. He had his infinite wisdom and his Sovereignty and Omnipotence as God was also present and is still present till today.
5. The Spirit of God was also present and moved upon the waters.
6. The Word of God which is Jesus Christ was also present. “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.” John 1:1 (KJV)

The Practical Application

As you live your life and also deal with the fallouts of the coronavirus pandemic, ask yourself, what are the raw materials in your hand at the moment? What are those tangible and intangible things in your possession now? As you answer this question, remember to include grace, gifts and faith which God has given to every child of God in Romans 12:6: “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.” (KJV)

Your List of Raw Materials

Some other raw materials that I expect you to list out in addition to your gifts, grace and faith are:

• Your spouse, no matter how bad you think he/she is.
• Present job no matter how much you hate it.
• Your small business, ideas, family, friends, education, skills, talents and abilities.
• Your ability to pray, sing, paint, write, cook, create wealth, make peace, give Godly counsel, help others and whatever it may be are all part of your own raw materials in creating the world around you.

All your raw materials can be described as your own acres of diamond, and like Earl Nightingale advised, say to yourself, “I am at this moment, standing right in the middle of my own acres of diamond.”

Action Time: What Should You Do?

• Now, take a sheet of paper and list out all raw materials available to you.
• Please don’t short-change yourself, list everything that comes to your mind and add to the list each time you remember a new raw material.
• Lift up your list in your hand and declare thus: Lord I thank you for the raw materials you have given to me.
• Wave your list and say “This is my own acres of diamond.”
• Go ahead and engage what you possess. Plant your seeds, deploy them, put them to work in faith and watch what God will do with your life, through your life and for your life regardless of the Covid-19 and other circumstances around you.

1. My God and my Father, I thank you for you are the Creator and Maker of the heavens and the earth.
2. Father Lord, I thank you for creating me in your own image.
3. Dear Lord, I thank you because in your infinite wisdom, you have put in me the power to bring forth my dreams, hopes, aspirations and imaginations into manifestation and nothing can stop me in Jesus’ name.
4. My God and my Father, I thank you because my life is not empty. I thank you for all the tangible and intangible talents, abilities and gifts you have given to me in life as my own raw materials in Jesus’ name.
5. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I locate and recognise every talents, abilities and gift that God has endowed me with in Jesus’ name.
6. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I cover with the blood of Jesus all the raw materials I need to create the world around me.
7. Father Lord, by the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, I ask that the light of God will now begin to shine upon my talents, abilities and gifts for their manifestation in Jesus’ name.
8. Thank you Father God, for answering my prayers, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
